To ensure the safety and accountability of all students, the following early dismissal procedures must be followed:
All early pickups must take place at the Baltic Street main entrance.
The person picking up the student must present a valid, government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license, state ID, or passport).
Please note: Credit cards, library cards, insurance cards, and employee IDs are not valid forms of identification.
Students under the age of 18 cannot sign themselves out of school under any circumstances.
Parents/guardians cannot give verbal or written permission for an underage student to leave school unaccompanied.
Only individuals listed on the student’s NYCDOE Emergency Contact Card or in ATS records may sign a student out.
We cannot accept phone calls or written notes to authorize a person not listed.
If you know in advance that your child needs to be picked up early, please make arrangements for them to report to the main office at the designated time. We kindly ask that early pickups align with our bell schedule to avoid disrupting instructional time.
While we will do our best to locate students during lunch or gym, please be aware that staff cannot leave their posts to search the cafeteria or make building-wide announcements.
For questions, please contact our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Best at abest12@schools.nyc.gov or 718-330-9390.
If you need to drop something off for your child:
Security at the main desk will notify our main office.
A staff member will meet you to collect the item.
Please ensure the item is in a bag, clearly labeled with your child’s full name and grade.
Items will be held in the main office—it is your child’s responsibility to pick them up.
Staff members will not deliver items to classrooms or interrupt instruction.
Please do not call or text your child during the school day. If the item is not retrieved that day, your child may pick it up the next school day.
All visitors must:
Present valid photo ID.
Have a scheduled appointment to meet with any staff member (teacher, guidance counselor, or administrator).
Sign in at the safety desk and main office upon arrival.
Wear a visitor pass sticker visibly at all times while in the building.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe, respectful, and academically focused school environment.
