Dear BHS Community,

My heart is filled with immense pride and optimism. Boerum Hill School for International Studies is a community I’ve had the privilege of calling home for over a decade.

Over the past ten years, I’ve served as a teacher, an Assistant Principal, and now, as your Principal. I’ve walked the halls, led classrooms, collaborated with families, and learned alongside our staff and students. This school isn’t just where I work—it’s where I’ve grown, led, and poured my heart into building something meaningful with all of you.

BHS has a rich legacy of innovation and excellence, always striving to meet the evolving needs of our students. Our foundation is rooted in joy, dedication, and a passion for equity and inquiry. Our commitment to a culturally relevant and responsive IB curriculum, inquiry-based learning, and anti-racist practices remains unwavering. I am energized by our shared vision for equity and social justice—and I know that together, we will ensure every student feels seen, heard, and deeply valued.

Our instructional focus centers on knowing our students deeply—their intellect, critical thinking, identity, and unique skills. Through intentional grouping, scaffolded instruction, and truly listening to their voices, we will foster a learning environment that challenges, supports, and inspires.

We are committed to building a safe, trusting, and joyful school environment for everyone—students, families, and staff alike. We will continue expanding teacher leadership, strengthening family partnerships, and building on the powerful momentum of our collective work.

The milestones we’ve reached together have laid a strong foundation for what’s ahead. Our efforts remain focused on bringing stability, belonging, and joy to this beloved community.
